DRS Test Day Shenington

Yesterday was the DRS test day at Shennington, and I was so happy to finally bring out my fresh painted helmet. Rain coming down on and off the whole time which was very annoying as I was hoping to test in the dry after the lunch break. My old kart got trashed last round, so I had to switch to a new kart. It felt weird compared to what I was used to. Still, we were trying our best to find out the right setup for me, trying to figure out where the kart is at its weakest and losing pace which was mainly out of the corners and braking we think. I can't wait until Round 1 which is at Shenington again and hopefully we will be pushing for the win.

Daniel Ricciardo Series Awards Evening 2023

At the DRS Awards Evening 2023, I was thrilled to receive my 5th place trophy for the previous year's championship this past Saturday. This achievement is amazing to me as it's the first time I've got a trophy for the championship in DRS. Although I feel there was a definite chance at 3rd and maybe with the luck fight for the championship but I'm still very happy and I will be fighting for more next year. I want to also say congratulations to all participants for contributing to an outstanding year.

2024 DRS Calendar

So the 2024 Daniel Ricciardo Series Calendar has dropped and it looks like a very exciting season next season but we still haven't decided if we going to stay with the Daniel Ricciardo Series or we move on to a different championship and that is still pending on what we do. If we do stay then this is a quite exciting year to look forward to.

GYG Round 6

Over the weekend, things went fairly well, though there was room for improvement. During practice, my main focus was getting acquainted with the track, given that it was my first time there. I wasn't too concerned about lap times at this point.

Hooton Park Round 4

Not a bad weekend but could've been improved. Practice went decently, and I was close to the desired pace, but most of the day was spent searching for an optimal setup due to frequent sliding. Prior to race day, I fell seriously ill and thought I might not be able to compete after experiencing two random episodes of vomiting. Thankfully, I managed to recover around 15 minutes before qualifying, which was fortunate. During qualifying, I struggled to find grip with my kart, resulting in a subpar lap. Despite that, I surprisingly secured the 8th position, better than expected.

Shennington Round 1

Decent weekend at

Shennington but should've been better. I got grouped in the A-group. I was on pole for most of the session and got jumped on the final laps and Qualified 3rd.

Heat 1 was intense I jumped everyone on the line and got to 1st and was leading for like 5 laps but the gap from 2nd to me was closing and made a few mistakes costing me to get overtaking on the same corner putting me to 3rd but then I managed to do a switch back got back to the lead but didn't get enough traction and went back to 3rd. I then got 2nd pretty much on the line and finished 2nd from starting 3rd.

Pre-Final had me starting 2nd and finished 3rd but unfortunately, I ended up with a 6-place penalty due to a collision with Benjamin and Ruby (sorry for that couldn't go much else at that point).

Grand Final I was starting 5th and it was a very ups and downs race I first was following the top 4 and then made a slight mistake allowing some other drivers overtaking me putting me to 7th I then made it back 5th but 4th was gone already and then got sent down the inside and finished 7th but know that if I had been a bit more aggressive and avoided a mistake, the podium could have been within my reach. Still, decent day today and can't wait for the next round at Llandow.

DRS Plate

So the Daniel Ricciardo Series Plate is now over, not the weekend we hoped for but still decent. I think decision making really cost me on the weekend but not so much on luck for once.

Castle Combe Finale Update

After the Castle Combe Championship has ended we now have the results and not what I was hoping for but still managed to get 3rd in the championship. The conditions weren't the best to me and but unlucky in the end. The heats weren't great and the 3rd time I haven't qualified on pole this season so quite annoying. I did get into the A-Final but I only started 6th. I got a really good start and by the first lap I got up to 3rd place and not too far off the driver who won the championship. We got a bit unlucky and probably shouldn't have gone round the outside but the driver that came 2nd in the championship went for a move and fully had it done but I was still around the outside and he couldn't control the Kart because of the conditions and ended up slightly pushing me into the wall and I lost 4 positions and went down to 7th from 3rd. This wasn't his fault obviously but a bit unlucky that I could've got at least 2nd. Overall I did pretty decent.

Castle Combe Finale

After the Castle Combe finale on the 18th of December was cancelled due to snow, there's now a new date on the 22nd of January. Really excited because I'm 2nd in the championship and 2 points away from 1st. Hopefully I can maximum points and hope that 1st place doesn't get top 3. I will give updates about it after the 22nd.

Fulbeck Circuit Round 7 Race Day

So the weekend has finished and so has the season for 2022. In Qualifying I was looking good but got stuck in traffic and ended up 17th. In the heat we had a good run and came 12th making 5 positions. In the heat 2 drivers were involved in a bad crash and had to go to hospital but paramedics wouldn't take them so we had to wait 3 hours for 2 ambulances to arrive. Luckily the last ambulance came on time and if had been 20 mins longer and the ambulance still wasn't here then the weekend would've been abandoned. So we were only able to do the pre-final due to darkness so we did the pre-final and it didn't go how I would've liked it to go. We came 17th in the rain after starting 12th because someone in front of me broke earlier than me and I ended up locking up the rear and spinning on the 4th corner on the first lap. So not the greatest day to end the season on but overall we've had a decent season but could've been better.

Fulbeck Circuit Round 7 Practice Day

Last race of the season. There is no times for FP1-FP3. So In practice today we came 6th in FP4 with a 47.285 so pretty good in that session. And in FP5 we came 7th with a 47.475 so not as good but I didn't do it till late in the session as I missed 10 mins of the session as we were checking over tyres. So not a bad practice today and we are looking good for tomorrow.

Hooton Park Round 6 Race Day

Race Day, after a very good practice day we were looking good for the day. I came 5th in qualifying but, someone had a penalty so I came 4th. Heat it was a disaster, coming 2nd last and crashing out on the first corner splitting the rear bumper in half. Pre-Final, the Kart all fixed up and ready to go and I was starting in 14th place, so I had some work to do. I made a many positions and coming in 6th place. Grand Final, all the points added up wasn’t good enough to put me higher up so ended up starting 15th but again made lots of positions and came in 9th place but I’m still not sure about penalties because I thought I came 7th but it was 9th instead. Overall best weekend I’ve had this season.
